Imagine you’re 400 kilometres above the ground, hurtling along at eight kilometres per second, you get a short break from your strict work schedule to call up your wife who you haven’t seen for months, and she hangs up on you.

talking to a guy who works in tech about phones and mentioned how i didn’t like the new iphones or androids bc of the size and he was like “yeah i’ve noticed quite a few women feel like that idk why bc it’s so good having such a big screen” and i was like “it’s literally bc our hands are too small, i can’t reach across the screen” and he was shocked and had never thought about it and i had to explain to him how many things aren’t designed for women and he was truly astonished 🙄🙄
This speaks to me on a spiritual level.
I’d also like to add: THEY DONT FIT IN OUR POCKETS.
How many times have I almost flipped my damn phone out of my hand trying to reach the far left corner? Too many.
I started using my fiance’s old phone which has a fingerprint reader on the back which is high enough that I either hold it with my other hand or have to be really careful to use it to unlock the damn thing. He couldn’t understand why I missed my old phone which had it at the bottom on the front where I could use my thumb instead of reaching for it.
It makes you wonder just how many “clumsy women” stereotypes come from the world not being made to suit women. Ever gotten into a car and struggling to sit up high enough? Ever had a guy razz you for not being able to hold a basketball or football in one hand? Handles for powertools you can barely wrap your fingers around and which require an extreme grip strength to handle properly?
Male domination comes in a million forms, large and small.

Not to be dramatic but this post made me have a legit ‘holy shit’ moment

“When I was a student at Cambridge I remember an anthropology professor holding up a picture of a bone with 28 incisions carved in it. ‘This is often considered to be man’s first attempt at a calendar’ she explained. She paused as we dutifully wrote this down. ‘My question to you is this – what man needs to mark 28 days? I would suggest to you that this is woman’s first attempt at a calendar.’ It was a moment that changed my life. In that second I stopped to question almost everything I had been taught about the past. How often had I overlooked women’s contributions?”
